osteoarthritis of the hip
Patient: Female, aged 73
Referred by satisfied patient to me for complaints related
to back pain of 30 years, and hip pain for two years.
Chiropractic Management: Sonia's history
showed that her hip worsened 2 years ago. I tested her for
hip pathology and it was showing up positive. I x rayed her
immediatley and it showed what I beleived to be advanced
hip osteoarthritis, with possible need for immediate
surgery.
We decided to let the orthopedic surgeon decide that, and
she was given immediate medical referral.
She has been booked in for surgery next month. She has been
advised to return to chiropractic care for spinal
correction when the hip surgery is sufficiently healed.
