Daniel David Palmer, Chiropractor. His name was

"treating" because medicine, historically, was virtually
inept at managing it. A curious notion, when back pain is
one of the most costly disabilities in the western world.
Now they readily treat with manipulation, re-learning lost
wisdom, in addition to drugs.
