Ocular Improvement of Esotropia

"Why on Earth would anyone take a child to a chiropractor?", thought the therapist.
Or maybe she thought "how could an eye be connected with the neck?" I really don't know what she thought, in all honesty. I was just told that they were quite negative when they heard that a chiropractor was involvecd.

Why was a chiropractor involved?
This child was
1. unco-ordinated,
2. not quite a happy child,
3. her milestones were a worry to her mother.
4. She was dragging her leg when crawling,
5. her movements were "jerky",
6. she arched her back and made sounds of discomfort. Her mother had worked for a chiropractor so was already sold on the program.

ALSO
• Noticeably, the left eye was bigger
• Right eye was turned in (Esotropia)

It took only two adjustments to Maggie's atlas, the first vertebra at the top of the neck, to see the eye return to normal size.

The paediatrician, the nurse and the physiotherapist, all diligently doing their jobs could not make a diagnosis.
Possible dyspraxia? Some chromosomal anomaly? Tests were done. Perhaps more to come?
At any rate, mother is happily working with the various therapists AND the chiropractor now.
Paediatrician actually rang the mother to ask if her chiropractor could help another case. I simply stated I had no idea but would check to see if the spine was optimally functioning or not. He is obviously free thinking and an excellent physician only interested in good outcomes for the child, right? I think so...
I honestly do not know if this "spontaneous remission" of the eye turn was due to the chiropractic adjustment. However, with the change in Maggie's crawling and general demeanor, you can only conclude that a removal of some stressor has occurred in conjunction with the chiropractic care. The eye is still not perfection, but what can you expect in less than one week?

Its just too bad that people who do good work within health care do not understand the value of chiropractic...yet. However the paediatrician is delighted that something has helped her, and thats good.
And I can't help thinking of the irony that I was born with the similar problem in my left eye. Where was chiropractic in 1964?
